Mark Your Calendar: Landscaping Party, April 22
This year’s landscaping party will be held on Earth Day, Saturday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We require three hours of work per full-member family; and, in return, participating families will not be billed the $75 landscape fee for 2024.

Please bring weeding tools, hand pruners, gloves, kneeling pads, shovels, buckets, and a wheelbarrow if you have one. We will be weeding, pruning dead branches, and placing about four yards of gravel on the north and south paths. We ask that an adult from each family accompany minors who join us.

This is a one-day-only opportunity to help keep Wedgwood Pool beautiful, participate in Earth Day, and save $75! Questions? Contact Landscaping Chair Stephen Ramaley at sjramaley@gmail.com.

Swim Team Sign Up
Registration for Swim Team opens Saturday, April 1. To sign up, log into your TeamUnify account. If you don’t have an account or need help, please send a request to swimteam@wwpool.org.

Swim team fees are $200 per child this year. If these fees are a challenge for your family or if you have any questions about fees, please contact swimteam@wwpool.org.

We are expecting a back-to-normal season, as we had last year, with eight swim meets including our community favorite, Wedg vs. Wood. Evening practices will begin mid-May (tentatively May 22) and transition to morning practices in early July once the Seattle Public School year wraps up.

A “New to Swim Team” informational meeting will be held via Zoom in late April (date TBD). All TeamUnify account members will be notified, and you can always request information or an invitation from swimteam@wwpool.org.

Wedgwood Gear for Swim Team and Pool Members
We are partnering with a new vendor this year for non-swim gear, such as hoodies, sweatpants, shirts, and hats. There are no ordering deadlines, and the store is available year-round! You can find the Cloud 9 Spirit store here. Please note there are two different logos for swim team and pool members — make sure you select your preferred logo as shown in the product image.

As for swim gear, we will be working with D&J Sports as we did last year and will offer an opportunity to try-on suits at the pool in May (date TBD, dependent on ordering timelines for swim meets).

Finance Committee Volunteer Opportunity
If you are interested in a volunteer role at Wedgwood Pool that does not require a major time commitment, please consider serving on the Finance Committee. The commitment involves two or three meetings during the year to update the pool’s 10-year operating projection, draft an annual budget for membership approval, and review the pool’s insurance policies and coverages.

The committee is appointed by the board in April and comprises at least four members, including the pool board president and the treasurer as committee chair. If you are interested, please contact Treasurer Alex Lee at alexgetsemail@yahoo.com or President Tony Neupert at ajneupert@msn.com by Friday, April 14. Financial or other business experience would be very helpful.

(Note: For a complete description of Finance Committee duties, as set out in the Pool Bylaws, Section 4.3, click on the “Members Only” link at the pool’s public web site: http://wwpool.org/build2014/.)

Pool Opens May 20
It’s official! The 2023 season begins Saturday, May 20. Join us from noon to 2 p.m. for complimentary hot dogs served fresh off the grill as we celebrate the start of another great summer season! Please note, as in years past, opening day will be limited to pool members — i.e., no guests.
